Join us in standing up for nuclear outside the Federal Government's public inquiry into nuclear generation in Brisbane on Friday 15 November. Nuclear energy is a vital and proven tool for achieving real climate action. Countries around the world are already showing that nuclear, alongside wind and solar, can dramatically cut emissions while ensuring that the lights stay on without fossil fuels. Nuclear energy is among the safest and most rigorously tested energy sources available, offering 24/7 power with an exceptionally low environmental footprint. Relying solely on variable sources like wind and solar isn’t enough to ensure we meet our climate targets or ensure a high quality of life. Nuclear energy is ready to step in as the heavy lifter that can accelerate the phase-out of coal and support a stable, clean energy future. Delaying nuclear only prolongs our reliance on fossil fuels—jeopardising the urgent progress we need.
